Mary Boone Wellington began her entrepreneurial career as a sculptor, creating public art for international installations. With the invention of LightBlocks, which was originally conceived as a medium for her sculpture, Wellington transitioned to industry. LightBlocks, a beautiful colorful and luminous polymer, created an instant demand from cutting edge architects and designers. Wellington’s studio, in partnership with her architect clientele, has expanded the creative conversation worldwide.

LightBlocks, now patented, is manufactured at the studio and factory in Nashua NH. In 2008, Wellington left the day-to-day management of LightBlocks to begin a career in writing. Inspired by all she learned in caring for her aging mother, she joined forces with her friend Tracey Bowman to write Hope I Don’t Die Before I Get Old, bringing her organizational and creative talents to the issues facing us all as we and our loved ones, grow old.

Her latest book, Radical Indulgence: The Health Secrets of Coffee, Chocolate & Wine will give the reader “Every excuse you need to indulge in your favorite treats with a clear conscience.” Making her home in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the author travels around the country in her van, ‘Little Bird’ with Gracie, a Tibetan terrier. Tasting coffee, chocolate and wine as she goes, she is researching for a new cookbook which will feature delicious recipes using her favorite health foods–you guessed it–coffee, chocolate and wine.
